Cookie Policy

What this website stores in your browser, and the choices you have.

Last updated: October 2026

1. Introduction

This policy explains browser storage and optional analytics on https://www.axite-securitytools.com. Section 6 describes the consent items stored in your browser during a public visit. Regional information is in section 9.

2. What are cookies?

A cookie is a small file that a website asks your browser to store on your computer or another device. Your browser sends it back with matching HTTP requests to the website that set it or, for third-party cookies, to the relevant third party. Browsers also offer local storage. Unlike cookies, local storage is read by the code of the page and is not automatically sent with each HTTP request. For the consent choice described in this policy, this website uses local storage.

3. What are scripts?

A script is a piece of program code that is used to make a website function properly and interactively. This code is executed on the server or on your device.

4. What is a web beacon?

A web beacon (or a pixel tag) is a small, invisible piece of text or image on a website that is used to monitor traffic on a website. In order to do this, various data about you is stored using web beacons. This section only explains the term; it does not mean that this website installs tracking pixels.

5. Cookies by category

5.1 Technical or functional cookies

Some technologies ensure that certain parts of the website work properly and that your user preferences remain known. On this website, the only functional use is local storage that remembers the cookie choice you made, so that the cookie banner does not appear again on every visit. We may place this without your consent.

5.2 Cookie-free website analytics

Statistics help us understand how the website is used. This website uses Vercel Web Analytics, which is cookie-less: it sets no analytics cookies. Cookie-less does not mean that no personal data is processed, which is described in our Privacy Statement. We ask your permission first. Vercel Web Analytics only starts if you choose "Enable analytics" in the cookie settings, and it is not loaded before you choose Enable analytics.

For each page view, analytics records the page, the time, the referrer and device and approximate location information. When a solution-paper download completes, it records one "paper_download" event whose only custom property is which paper was downloaded. It never includes the email address or the form contents. Cookie-free does not mean anonymous, and it does not by itself make the processing exempt from legal requirements. Details are in section 1.5 of the Privacy Statement.

5.3 Marketing/Tracking cookies

Marketing/Tracking cookies are cookies or any other form of local storage, used to create user profiles to display advertising or to track the user on this website or across several websites for similar marketing purposes. This website currently does not implement advertising, profiling or cross-site tracking.

6. Browser storage and analytics

On a public visit, this website currently stores the following two consent items, both in your browser's local storage. Local storage is read by the code of the page and is not automatically sent with each HTTP request. Both items are functional. This list covers public visits to the website and the consent choice. It is not a list of everything any part of the website could ever store.

Items this website stores in your browser
NameTypeFunctionExpiration
ax_consent_vercel_v1Local storageStores your cookie choice: "all" (Enable analytics) or "essential" (Disable analytics)Persistent. The website sets no automatic expiry; it stays until you clear it
ax_consent_dateLocal storageStores the date and time (ISO format) at which you made your choicePersistent. The website sets no automatic expiry; it stays until you clear it

You can remove both items at any time by clearing this website's site data in your browser, as described in sections 7 and 8. Earlier versions of this website stored a choice under the name "ax_consent". The website ignores that item and no longer uses it as a consent choice, so visitors who made a choice earlier are asked again.

Vercel Web Analytics, if you choose "Enable analytics", does not add items to this list because it sets no cookies. What it processes is described in section 1.5 of our Privacy Statement.

When you first visit, a banner offers "Enable analytics", "Disable analytics", "Close" and "Details". "Details" only explains the categories. Only "Enable analytics" starts Vercel Web Analytics. "Disable analytics" keeps it off. Closing the banner, pressing Escape, scrolling or opening the details does not store a choice. A choice you make is stored in local storage as described in section 6.

You can reopen the same settings at any time with "Cookie settings" in the footer of every page. The panel shows your current choice and offers the same two actions. Choosing "Disable analytics" immediately stops analytics for everything you do on the page afterwards. It does not erase data Vercel has already received, and it does not stop the separate handling of forms and downloads, which is described in our Privacy Statement. Opening or dismissing the settings does not change your choice. Removing browser data is optional. You do not need it to change your choice.

If your browser blocks local storage altogether, the website cannot read or save a choice and treats this as no consent: analytics stays off. If your browser can read an earlier choice but cannot save a new one, the website keeps analytics off on the current page and shows a message, but the earlier choice can return after you reload the page.

Without JavaScript, the website shows no cookie settings panel, stores nothing in local storage and does not load analytics. The footer then shows "Cookie settings" as a link to this section, and this policy and the other legal pages stay readable.

8. Enabling, disabling and deleting cookies

You can set your internet browser to block cookies and local storage, or to delete them, and the way to do this differs per browser. See your browser's help pages for the steps. If you delete the stored choice, the banner appears again on your next visit, and you can use "Cookie settings" in the footer at any time (section 7). Analytics, which only runs with your consent, does not start again until you choose "Enable analytics". If you block local storage altogether, the website cannot read or remember a choice, and treats this as no consent: analytics stays off. If your browser can read an earlier choice but cannot save a new one, the earlier choice can return after you reload (section 7).

Please note that blocking or deleting cookies may mean that some functions of other websites do not work properly.

9. Regional information

9.1 EU/EEA and Switzerland

To the extent the GDPR and applicable EU/EEA ePrivacy rules apply, the rights described here apply to the people whose personal data we process. The website stores your analytics choice as described in section 5.1. Vercel Web Analytics is not loaded before you choose Enable analytics. Your rights are described in section 11 and in section 7 of our Privacy Statement. Where Swiss data protection law applies to you, it may provide rights that differ; contact us to exercise the rights that apply to you.

9.2 United Kingdom

The website works the same way for visitors in the United Kingdom. There is no set of trackers that depends on your country and no separate consent tool: Vercel Web Analytics is not loaded before you choose Enable analytics, your choice is kept in your browser's local storage (section 6), and you can withdraw it at any time with "Cookie settings" in the footer and "Disable analytics" (section 7). Your UK rights and how to complain to the ICO are in section 7.2 of our Privacy Statement.

9.3 United States

The website does not use advertising, profiling or cross-site tracking cookies (section 5.3), and Vercel Web Analytics sets no cookies. The same consent choice and steps apply (sections 6 and 7). Information for visitors in the United States, including how to make a privacy request, is in section 7.3 of our Privacy Statement. Browser signals are described in section 10.

10. Do Not Track and Global Privacy Control

Do Not Track (DNT) is an advisory tracking preference that a browser can send. Global Privacy Control (GPC) is a privacy preference signal. They are different signals. The code of this website does not read either of them to set or change your stored analytics choice. This website does not act on either signal, and this section makes no statement about whether any law requires it to.

Vercel Web Analytics is not loaded until you choose Enable analytics. With no choice made, or with Disable analytics, it does not run whatever signals your browser sends. If you have already chosen Enable analytics, a DNT or GPC signal on its own does not turn analytics off. To turn it off, use "Cookie settings" in the footer and choose "Disable analytics", as described in section 7.

11. Your rights with respect to personal data

Depending on the law that applies to our processing, you may have the following rights with respect to your personal data. Sections 9.1 and 9.2 describe the regions.

  • Right to be informed: you have the right to know why your personal data is needed, what will happen to it, and how long it will be retained for.
  • Right of access: you have the right to obtain confirmation of whether we process personal data about you and to access that personal data.
  • Right to rectification: you have the right to have inaccurate personal data corrected and incomplete personal data completed.
  • Right to erasure: where the conditions of the law are met, you have the right to have your personal data erased.
  • Right to restriction: where the conditions of the law are met, you have the right to have the processing of your personal data restricted.
  • Right to data portability: where processing is based on consent or on a contract and is carried out by automated means, you have the right to receive your personal data in a structured, commonly used and machine-readable format and to have it transmitted to another controller where technically feasible.
  • Right to object: where processing is based on legitimate interests or on a task carried out in the public interest, you may object on grounds relating to your particular situation, subject to the conditions of the law.
  • Direct marketing: you may object at any time to the use of your personal data for direct marketing. If you do, we stop using it for that purpose.
  • Withdrawing consent: where processing is based on your consent, you may withdraw it at any time. Withdrawal does not affect the lawfulness of processing carried out before you withdrew. For analytics, see section 7.
  • Right to complain: see below.

To exercise these rights, please contact us. Please state who you are and what you are asking for. We do not ask for a copy of an identity document as a rule. Only if we have reasonable doubts about your identity may we ask for additional information, limited to what is proportionate to confirm it. How we handle a request, and the time limits for requests under Articles 15 to 22 of the GDPR, are described in section 7.1 of our Privacy Statement.

If you are not satisfied with the way in which we handle (a complaint about) the processing of your personal data, you have the right to submit a complaint to the Data Protection Authority. In the Netherlands this is the Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens. In the United Kingdom you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office.
